Pattern Meanings: Path of the horse
These authentic sheep wool woven Arhuaco Mochilas were made by the community of Inkarua or “Los Besotes”, near the city of Valledupar. These bags support the Mamos and Women’s Collective in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Colombia.
These satchels are created by a collective of indigenous women, and each bag is created in prayer, wisdom, and sacred patterns of the Arhuaco of the Sierra Nevada. These bags directly support these women, who regularly trade these bags for food and supplies for their families, and are in need of immediate assistance so they can remain to protect their sacred sites.
