These artisanal crafts were sourced from our friends at the Jovenes Guerreros Da Floresta (Young Warriors of the Forest) association. The association is comprised of a group of young men of Ashaninka, Kuntanawa, and Yawanawa descent, and many of them have taken the commitment vows to become healers. Many of these young men have been undergoing strict dietas and initiations for 10-15 years and are already powerful healers in their own right.
Every day near the Alto Yurua River of Acre these young men plant trees in deforested areas or heal the sick. The purchase of these artisanal crafts supports this association and directly supports the reforestation effort of the Amazon rainforest. Many of these pieces are from these individual’s private collections and have been imbued with the energies of the master plants and years of ceremony.
