Hapéh  made by the Huni Kuin (True People) of the Brazilian Amazon. Contains the ashes of Samauma bark.

This hapeh is made with one of the most sacred plants in the forest, the great Samauma tree. Variants of the Samauma tree can be found in Africa, Central America, Asia, and South America and are known as one of the tallest types of trees in the world. They can live for hundreds of years if not disturbed and can grow over 250 feet high.

For the Amazonian cultures of Brazil the Samauma tree represents a forest spirit that is as powerful as it is ancient. It is very common that many important tribal meetings and gatherings happen in the presence of the Samauma, as the areas where it grows are vortexes of powerful spiritual energy. It is also common that in plant medicine ceremonies the Samauma is called upon in order to facilitate deep healing, protection, and learning for ceremony participants. When a person works with this hapeh, they are also communing with an ancient spirit that is truly an embodiment of the essence of the forest.

This hapeh was made by Nawa Huni Kuin of the Txana Huya Huni Kuin community. Nawa comes from a community located relatively close to the Amazonian urban center of Tarauaca, and like many other communities, his is one of the ones that does not receive much support from NGO’s or the Brazilian government. Many of the Amazonian traditions are oral in nature, and due to the global situation, tribal elders, whom are the libraries of their traditional knowledge, are at high risk. Currently, Nawa’s community is working to raise funds in order to limit trips into urban areas to buy essential supplies. We are honored here at The Rainbow Bridge to support these communities by supporting indigenous artisans so that they may be able to financially safeguard themselves from the current global situation.

Glass vial contains 10 or 20 grams of powder. Good for connecting to the spirit of the Amazon and the spirit of the sacred plants.
