Copal is a resin that comes from a variety of different species of Central and South America. The resin is burned in traditional cultures to ward off diseases, clean spaces, and invite in good energies. The smell of copal is one of our favorites and is comprised of lemony, zesty, sweet, and savory aromas. The smoke of the copal is great for cleaning the energies in our sacred spaces and also cleansing our energy bodies. One such practice a person can do is wrapping themselves in a blanket and placing a copalero (burner) loaded with copal at the feet, thus creating a cocoon of smoke. This copal was sourced from Mexico and has a strong sweet zest aroma.
