Hapéh made by the Kuntanawa people of the Brazilian Amazon. Contains bark ash of the Cumaru tree
Cumaru is an aromatic tree that is good for the lungs. The tree has many healing uses, some cultures will use the seeds to make traditional jewelry, which is often a means to make the seeds more portable for long journeys into the jungle. In times of extreme physical exertion, it is common that seeds will be plucked off of jewelry and used to make an invigorating tea in order to move through the jungle more effectively. When used in hapeh it is believed that Cumaru both cleans the mind and allows it to work better. It is also a common belief for many Amazonian cultures that Cumaru is an anti-viral, making it a very popular blend for today’s current global situation.
